Dolls – Fairytale and Fantasy

Like every little girl, I grew up listening to all of the fantastic stories of the Grimm brothers and Aesop’s Fables.  To this day,   I love all those stories and the many interesting characters that I grew to know so well.

The lovely fairytale dolls (shown below) are all fine porcelain, and I think they are lovely.  I love their rich costumes.

Although a good bit “worse for wear”,  this antique Snow White doll is a real delight.

I was really excited when I found this 3-way Little Red Riding Hood doll recently at my local Goodwill store . . . I had one almost exactly like this when I was young.

And isn’t this wizard just fabulous?   It certainly looks like he has some wizardly business on his mind!

The small Harry Potter figures shown below are probably going to be put to use in a roombox/diorama scene.  They are the right size, and I just know I won’t be able to resist!

The figures shown below were finds from the local Goodwill store.  I was especially excited to find the Jack Sparrow figure.  That will be the inspiration for a fun future project!

Although I do own several Barbies, I don’t consider them a significant part of my doll collection.   The one shown below is a lovely princess Barbie that I found at the local Goodwill store.

And, since it is currently the month for Halloween, I will end today’s posting with a charming little witch!

Come back soon . . . I have many more interesting dolls in this category that I will be sharing with you!
