9-11 Commemorative Beaded Quilts To honor the victims and heros of 9-11

After the heart-wrenching tragedy of 9-11-01, five hundred beadwork artisans from all across America and the world joined forces to create several beaded quilts as a memorial to all those lives lost, and families impacted.

The finished quilts were displayed in a nationwide traveling tour  over a course of 7 years and 60,000 miles. Thousands of grieving Americans viewed them, and reflected on their own personal pain regarding this tragic event.

My contribution was a total of 5 original quilt blocks which were integrated into the full-size quilts. I have blocks in New York quilt #2, New York quilt #3, Washington quilt #2, Washington quilt #3, and Pennsylvania quilt #2. I am so proud to have been a part of this project, and to be a part of a permanent memorial to this historic, but horrible event. As I beaded each one of my blocks, my prayers went out for each devastated family.

The entire collection of these beaded commemorative quilts have now been donated to The National September 11 Memorial and Museum at the World Trade Center site.
