St Louis, Missouri

St. Louis is highly significant to the history of this country, and is known as the “Gateway to the West”. Replete with historical structures, significant tourist destinations, sports arenas, and the Mississippi River, there is literally something for everyone in this bustling metropolis.

I visited St. Louis over Mother’s Day weekend (2012) with my sister, my mother, and my nephew. While our visit was not a lengthy one, we did pack an astounding amount of activity into that time frame. So much, in fact, that I will make separate travel logs for each site we visited as “sub-categories” to this one.

This wonderful trip was courtesy of my sister, Leanne Hernandez, and I would like to thank her AND tip my hat to her for the excellent planning she did to make this trip extra special. For instance, our hotel room was DIRECTLY in front of the arch . . . I could hardly believe it! I took the photo below while standing directly in front of the window in our room.

And, as if that wasn’t enough . . . there were wonderful bronze sculptures to enjoy in the great room as we dined on sumptuous breakfasts, and at night . . . dined on a variety of tempting treats that included cocktails!

I had a wonderful time during my visit here, and would love to return to see even more. So many of the sites we visited were quite comprehensive in scope, and I believe they each merit additional time if one can manage it.
